PECULIAR PHOTOS OF THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN

JANUARY 2009

Antigua: Is anyone looking at this actually thinking about ice cream?

Antigua: What he's not telling you is that a "minuit"
is a measure of time equalling 6.7938013 centuries.

Antigua: Personally, I am not a Stackbucks Playa.

Antigua: I really wanted to ask the guy what
it meant, but the sign warned me he would truss.

Antigua: We be overcharging too!

Antigua: Where a "food court" is often two, small food stalls.

Antigua: Is that a combination of cabbage and garbage?

Antigua: Who is he kidding? They are all clowns, pretenders, or actors.

St. Kitts: As seen in The Sims 1.0

St. Kitts: With the nationally mandated
minimum of three years of persecution.

St. Kitts: Probably not the best name or font for a barber shop.

St. Kitts: At 120 MPH - God had to identify my body

Nevis: Is this shop owner also the island's judge? (EC$1000 = US$383)

Roseau, Dominica: This obvious Starbucks knockoff is based in
Trinidad and has some franchises around the Caribbean. At least
they are smart enough not to use the mermaid logo. Even so, maybe
Rituals never heard about Starbucks' lawsuit against China's Xingbake.

Dominica: I recommend this guy spend more time cleaning up his
property, rather than stressing about people jammining down his gate.

Dominica: What are the chances the name of this place would be tolerated in the United States?

Bridgetown, Barbados: Again, what are the chances the
name of this place would be tolerated in the United States?

Bridgetown, Barbados: Free parking for all corpses

Bridgetown, Barbados: Women's Self Help is closed today.
Not to worry, the Royal Bank of Canada is right next door.

Bridgetown, Barbados: I wonder what's on de menu?

Bridgetown, Barbados: Up until now. I've never heard it referred to as a
"wicket". But, in all fairness, when was the last time you watched a cricket match?

Bridgetown, Barbados: This might be the first time I've seen a home used as a blackboard.

St. George's, Grenada: Finally, a new use for obsolete payphones.

So if you defecate here, you're also "littering" as well as releasing "public filth".
Throw in a few really loud f-bombs...you know, maybe it hurts a little. That would be the
"obscene language" and "nuisance by noise" fines. And no doubt there are the "defacement
of premises" and "public indecency" issues. Oh, and you'll likely need to pee as well,
since that usually happens alongside a number two. Grand total: EC$900 (US$345).
Better off getting a room at a five-star resort and doing your business there.

The ubiquitous tree frog has a
painfully annoying, all-night chirp...
along with his 500,000 chirping friends.

Port of Spain, Trinidad: A mentally ill woman struts her stuff

Trinidad: Yes, this is a real sign; no I did not use Photoshop.
